involve me and I learn."

Journal Submission
|
In the area of scholarship, I have had multiple opportunities to explore scholarship through this program. A few of these opportunities have been particularly important in this endeavor.
First was an article that was submitted for publication to the National Social Sciences Journal documenting the findings from the needs assessment survey through the completion of the 16 week program of Project Life Change, a wellness initiative for the D&E as well as Elkins, WV and surrounding counties. This taught me the process of submission. Second were three writing assignments. The first was a paper from Dr. Simone's writing class encouraging me to embrace revision that examined the General Education Health components at West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools. The second was a paper for Dr. Heaton applying technology to our General Education courses. The third was an evaluation of the Sport Science Department at D&E with Dr. Tuckwiller in Program Evaluation. Third was the attendance at annual doctoral seminars. I was a member of the planning committee in the fall of 2011. Also the development and implementation of a survey for EDF 711 with Dr. Childress and Dr. Tuckwiller. |
