One of the main focuses of the doctoral program at Marshall is Research. I have learned a tremendous amount about research through various classes. My initial exposure came through my first course in the program LS 703 Research Design with Dr. Cunningham. It introduced me what Leadership really is and gave me an appreciation for the differences between Quantitative and Qualitative Research.
The IRB (Institutional Review Board) process, which was daunting, was first attempted in Dr. Debela's class, EDF 711. I had great respect for Qualitative Research following this course. The IRB process became more streamlined in EDF 711, Survey Research with Dr. Childress. This was my first attempt at creating and implementing my own survey as well. Program Evaluation, and the review of other programs similar to the one I currently teach in was thoroughly reviewed in CI 676 with Dr. Tuckwiller. I learned many applicable and relevant concepts for an administrator in LS 714 with Dr. Anderson. |
